Conversations on History The 19th Amendment and the Silent Sentinels
he 19th Amendment to the Constitution, guaranteeing women the right to vote, was ratified by Tennessee on August 18th one hundred years ago, making it the law of the land.
On Aug. 13th at 2:30 pm the Rehoboth Beach Museum will welcome Dr. Cynthia Newton to "Conversations on History" our virtual online programming.
In celebration of the 100th anniversary, we have invited Dr. Newton to discuss the Silent Sentinel protests outside of the White House from 1917-1919. Little is widely known about these women, their nonviolent protests, and the brutal treatment they experienced just to have a voice in governance. Highlights of Delaware women involved in this fight will be featured.
Join us virtually on August 13 at 2:30pm.
You must register for the program online.
