VJ Day Ceremony

VJ Day Ceremony at Fort Miles Museum in Cape Henlopen State Park celebrates the Japanese surrender to allied forces on September 2, 1945 aboard the battleship USS Missouri in Tokyo Bay, ending World War II. The ceremony also commemorates the 774 Delaware service members who died while serving their country during the war,. The ceremony begins at 10:00 a.m. and is held outdoors beside the USS Missouri battleship gun .display. The Fort MIles Museum will be open to the public after the ceremony from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
