Lewes Merchants' Hospitality Night

The fun for holiday shoppers continues at the Merchants’ Hospitality Night on Thursday, December 5 th
from 5 -8 p.m. For 37 years on the Thursday before the annual Lewes Christmas Parade, the shops and
restaurants in the Historic Lewes Business district surrounding Second Street have hosted a special night
of holiday shopping and entertainment. To enhance the safety of children visiting Santa that night from
5 – 6:30 p.m. and others walking between shops and restaurants, Second Street will be closed to
vehicular traffic from 4 – 8 p.m.
Holiday music will add to the festive mood in front of Santa’s House with appearances by the Cape
Henlopen High School Jazz Band, under the direction of Chris Burkhart, and the Cape Chorale, under the
direction of Marian Sunnegren- alternating their performances from 5-6:30 p.m.
