Jazz Fest 2024

Jazz Festival weekend is a much anticipated event for the Rehoboth area, and Bethany
Blues of Lewes has, once again, prepared several events in the spirit of Jazz Fest.
Beginning on Wednesday, October 16th, prepare to make Blues of Lewes your home
base for all things jazz and blues as the vibes will be high, the libations will be flowing,
and the music will be stellar.
 
Jessica Nathan, Director of Operations for the location, says, “Sydney Arzt books our
Jazz Fest weekend every year here at Blues of Lewes, and her reputation proceeds her.
She’s a special person within the jazz community and we are lucky to have her line up
such a great weekend of musical talent every year”.  Nathan expounds by saying that
the lineup this year is no exception, and is one of their best yet thanks to Arzt.
 
The weekend starts early on Wednesday with a fundraiser in partnership with the True
Blue Jazz Organization, founded by Peggy Raley and Eddie Sherman, with their True
Blue Youth Jazz Appreciation Concert. It has been Raley and Sheman’s signature
opening event for their True Blue Jazz Festival for a decade, and features over 120
local youth musicians from 5 area school districts. Blues of Lewes hosts the event, and
it’s a special evening beginning at 6PM.  A percentage of all sales for that evening are
donated back to the organization and specifically are put towards the Annual True Blues
Scholarship Award.
 
While the event on Wednesday is a fundraiser, the rest of the weekend, beginning
Friday, features big music acts with absolutely NO COVER. Just come and enjoy the
amazing atmosphere, whiskey bar, great barbecue and music that Blues has to offer.
Nathan explains that over the course of the weekend, they try to offer a variety of music
acts that don’t focus exclusively on Jazz, but also incorporate Blues and Funk as well.
