Mill Pond Garden's Open Garden Day celebrating high summer flowers

Mill Pond Garden celebrates treasures of the July garden with Open Garden Day on Sunday, July 16, 2023 from 10 AM to 12:30 PM, rain or shine, closing only for high wind or lightning. Ticket is available at millpondgarden.com or $15 cash only at gate admitting one car with up to six passengers.

Mid-July is a peak of flowering in most Cape area gardens with many flowering plants including crape myrtles, hibiscus, hydrangeas, sunflowers, tall phlox, water lilies, sage, lilies, Asclepias, Joe Pye weed, daylilies, bananas, the epiphyte garden, ferns, Bee Balm, many flowering perennials, and flowering annuals including Benary’s Giant Zinnias and Cuphea. On the Bulkhead garden visitors may find the largest native American fern, a Royal Fern with fronds six feet tall and twelve feet spread, a breath-taking spectacle. Abundant wildlife and vistas of 258 acre Red Mill Pond at the Cape's only botanical garden, a gem.
