Film at CAT - A Call to Spy

“A Call to Spy,” a thrilling drama inspired by true events that tells the story of a secret army of spies and how they were trained. In the beginning of WWII, with Britain becoming desperate, Winston Churchill ordered his new spy agency - the Special Operations Executive (SOE) - to recruit and train women as spies. Their daunting mission: conduct sabotage and build a resistance. The SOE's "spymistress" Vera Atkins recruits two unusual candidates: an ambitious American with a wooden leg and a Muslim pacifist. Together, these women help to undermine the Nazi regime in France, leaving an unmistakable legacy in their wake.  [2019, US, 123 min, Rated: PG-13]. Venue: Cinema Art Theater.
