An Intimate EVENING with BENNY GREEN

In his own words and with heartfelt expression of love for this music, Benny Green writes, “Nothing can quite get inside you like the feeling of real Jazz.”

From his pre-adolescent days, absorbing the jazz he heard with his tenor saxophonist Father - Benny learned phrasing, emotion & authenticity from the dominating jazz & blues artists.

An inherent natural talent and gifted music student, Benny Green matured into a jazz force on piano. As a teen he worked in a quintet led by Eddie Henderson. His late High School days found him leading his own band in Yoshi’s Jazz Club in San Francisco. Back in NYC, things took off for Benny Green.

He has led a charmed and transformative musical life. A lifelong Jazz Messenger with a resume spanning Betty Carter, Ray Brown, Art Blakey, Freddie Hubbard and a recording with mentor, Oscar Peterson, Green’s unmistakable sound is revered by fans and artists alike. Expect bold virtuosity, endless melodicism, and a deep love for the music.
