2nd Annual Broomstick Derby Run

This event date has passed.

The pre-party will begin at 4pm, and you’ll want to get in the door early and get signed up for the race where The Starboard is giving away some big prizes. A whopping $500 gift card for first prize, $250 gift card for second, and $100 gift card for third prize, all make this a true showdown for the finish line. So if you are feeling like jockeying up, get your racing stripes ready because it’s going down.

The ‘Fun’draising part of the afternoon in memory of Matt Taylor, benefitting the B+ Foundation, will include auctions, T-shirt sales, and online donation support. The B+ Foundation is about kids helping kids fight cancer through family assistance, research and advocacy.

In addition to the fancy attire, the nail biting race, and the perfectly minty juleps, The Starboard and folks at Maker’s Mark will be doing some awesome giveaways. The famous red-wax commemorative cups, shirts, and more will be available for participants. Since the Derby Day also falls on Cinco De Mayo, they’ll be adding in some tequila crush cocktails to the menu for a crazy, fun-filled afternoon.

Come and mount your horse at The Starboard. After the winner is crowned and roses are thrown, stick around for the one and only Kentucky Derby, shown on the 46 High Definition televisions at The Starboard, followed by a free performance from one of Dewey Beach’s best live acts, Kristen & The Noise! Kristen will bring her usual energy which can only be caught in Dewey on the Starboard’s stage! See you in Dewey!
