Plein Air Oil Painting: Color and Composition with Jacalyn Beam
With the Phase I opening of Delaware, the Rehoboth Art League will offer “Plein Air Oil Painting: Color and Composition with Jacalyn Beam” on Tuesday and Wednesday, June 2 and 3 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on the outdoor campus of the Art League. En plein air is a French expression meaning "in the open air,” and refers to the act of painting outdoors with the artist's subject in full view. Plein air artists capture the spirit and essence of a landscape or subject by incorporating natural light, color and movement into their works. Since the class will be held outdoors and class size maintained at less than ten, social distancing will be easily accomplished. All other CDC guidelines will also be strictly adhered to especially wearing face masks at all times.
In this class for intermediate and advanced painters, participants will discuss and practice seeing shapes and color in the landscape. Attention will be given to the "what and why" of subject matter and then moving the answers to canvas. Color temperature will be discussed and explored as a means to support artistic goals. In general, the class will be a lot of fun, experimentation and rewarding! NEED SUPPLIES? No worries - Jerry's Art Supply will be have everything you need on site! Purchase directly from Jerry's OR bring your own supplies. For a list of supplies contact, the Education Programs Director at email@example.com. The cost for the class is $200 per person.
