DESCRIPTION:With the Phase I opening of Delaware\, the Rehoboth Art League 
 will\noffer “Plein Air Oil Painting: Color and Composition with Jacalyn\
 nBeam” on Tuesday and Wednesday\, June 2 and 3 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00\np
 .m. on the outdoor campus of the Art League.  _En plein air_ is a\nFren
 ch expression meaning \"in the open air\,” and refers to the act\nof pai
 nting outdoors with the artist's subject in full view. Plein air\nartists 
 capture the spirit and essence of a landscape or subject by\nincorporating
  natural light\, color and movement into their\nworks. Since the class wi
 ll be held outdoors and class size\nmaintained at less than ten\, social d
 istancing will be easily\naccomplished.  All other CDC guidelines will a
 lso be strictly\nadhered to especially wearing face masks at all times.\n\
 n \n\nIn this class for intermediate and advanced painters\, participants
 \nwill discuss and practice seeing shapes and color in the\nlandscape.  
 Attention will be given to the \"what and why\" of subject\nmatter and the
 n moving the answers to canvas.  Color temperature\nwill be discussed an
 d explored as a means to support artistic\ngoals.  In general\, the clas
 s will be a lot of fun\, experimentation\nand rewarding! NEED SUPPLIES? N

 was rooted in the history and beauty of the Brandywine\nValley.  She hol
 ds a B.S.\, M.Ed. and Ed.D. and has always held a\npassion for painting. 
  Jacalyn is a member of the American\nImpressionist Society\, Oil Painter
 s of America\, Washington Society of\nLandscape Artists\, American Women a
 rtists\, and the Mid-Atlantic Plein\nAir Painters Association (MAPAPA). 
  She is included in books\,\nmagazines and other documents including\, \"
 100 Mid-Atlantic Plein Air\nPainters\" published by Schiffer and has earne
 d many awards. Governor\nJohn Carney recently appointed Dr. Beam to serve 
 on the state's art\ncouncil for a term of three years beginning January 20
