Jesus V. Gordiany
Executive Chef, Benvenuto
Chef Jesus Valentino Gordiany’s deep appreciation of the Culinary Arts started developing at a young age. Growing up in Arecibo, Puerto Rico and later moving to the states, he was exposed to a wide variety of foods that would fuel his lifelong passion for cooking. Watching his mother Nora cook up some of the family’s favorite Sicilian and Puerto Rican dishes, he knew found his true passion. By helping his mother prepare her culinary masterpieces from scratch, he learned that quality food was an essential ingredient to good living.
After many years in the field, he decided to study the culinary arts at The Restaurant School at Walnut Hill in Philadelphia. In 2014 Chef Jesus became the Executive Chef at BK Specialty Foods/The Chefs’ Warehouse (a specialty foods distributor) where his creativity and innate understanding of the culinary arts helped guide the company into an astounding future. While in this role, Chef took part in many restaurant openings. He would create menus, dining concepts, develop recipes, train staff, and would set them up for success.
He was a contestant on FOX’s Hells Kitchen with Gordon Ramsay, and even has his own show segment on WBOC’s Delmarvalife called “What’s Cooking Delmarva”. In 2020, he moved from Pennsylvania to open Benvenuto Restaurant in Milford, a Tuscan inspired dining destination. Since opening, Chef has become a household name for many in the area, who enjoy dining at Benvenuto, and watching him do his cooking segments and traveling food show on WBOC.
