SUMMARY:Terms of Endearment
CLASS:PUBLIC
DESCRIPTION:Clear Space Theatre is continuing its tradition of a winter Rea
der’s\nTheatre fundraiser. The 2021 Season theme is “Here We Go Again
”\nand Clear Space is returning to collaborate with Beebe Medical\nFound
ation for the Reader’s Theatre fundraiser.  Proceeds from\nticket sales
will benefit Beebe Oncology Services and Clear Space\nTheatre’s Arts In
stitute.  This year’s play is TERMS OF\nENDEARMENT.\n\nTERMS OF ENDEARM
ENT was a_dapted for the stage by Dan Gordon\; based on\nthe screenplay by
James L. Brooks. _Challenges in life and love test\nthe resilience of a
mother-daughter relationship. Though Emma is often\nexasperated by her hig
 hly-opinionated mother\, Aurora\, they talk every\nday about their problem
s\, from Aurora finding unexpected love even as\nshe becomes a reluctant g
randmother\, to Emma's struggle in her\ntroubled marriage. But when they n
eed one another most\, will they be\nable to find courage in each other? T
his funny and touching story\ncaptures the delicate\, sometimes fractured
bonds between mothers and\ndaughters\, husbands and wives\, and lovers\, b
oth old and new.\n\n \n\nFor the third year in a row Mary Caligiure retur
ns to direct the\nReader’s Theatre play.  Caliguire recently directed T
HE CURIOUS\nINCIDENT OF THE DOG IN THE NIGHT-TIME and THE WOMEN.  “I am
really\nexcited to be directing another Reader's Theatre performance at C
lear\nSpace this year.  This play is a bit different than the other\nRead
er's Theatre performances insomuch that it is a much faster paced\nshow.
At the beginning of the show\, we see a mother with her newborn\nbaby and
the show immediately catapults into a quick montage of scenes\nhighlighti
ng key points of the newborn's transition into the teen\nyears and adultho
od.  It's a show about relationships and\ncommunication and how we someti
mes get into our own way.  It's a show\nabout the fragility of life and t
he importance of letting down our\nguard.  The audience is taken on a jou
rney of laughter and tears all\nwithin a little over an hour\,” says Cal
igiure. \n\n \n\n“Clear Space Theater and the Beebe Medical Foundation
have enjoyed a\nstrong and loyal partnership over the years.  I am so gr
ateful to\nClear Space for choosing our Oncology Services as part of the\n
beneficiary of this production.  No doubt\, the arts are such an\nimporta
nt part of our overall health and well-being.” Shared Thomas\nJ. Protack
\, President of the Beebe Medical Foundation.\n\n \n\nTERMS OF ENDEARMENT
