SUMMARY:Rehoboth Beach Film Society Jewish Film Festival
CLASS:PUBLIC
DESCRIPTION:The Rehoboth Beach Film Society is pleased to present in partne
rship\nwith Seaside Jewish Community\, the fifth annual Rehoboth Beach Jew
ish\nFilm Festival. The mission of this event is to deepen awareness of\nJ
ewish cultures and experiences\, and to explore community differences\nand
commonalities through the art of film.\n\nIn this time of rising anti-Sem
itic violence throughout the world\, it\nis crucial for the Rehoboth Beach
Jewish Film Festival to celebrate\nthe culture and history of the Jewish
people. The twelve films\npresented over five days (March 11-15) are diver
se\, hopeful and\ninspiring. Many of the films deal with finding commonali
 ties\, whether\nwithin oneself\, in a relationship or amongst historically
adversarial\ncommunities. Others deal with the moral imperative of rememb
ering\, of\nkeeping the past alive. Universal themes of love and family ar
e also\nexplored through a distinctly Jewish lens. There is much hope to b
e\nfound in this year’s selection of films\, and we invite you to come\n
experience it with family\, friends\, and neighbors.\n\nThe individuals wh
o make this event happen are the volunteer members\nof the Planning Commit
tee who spend many hours watching numerous\nfilms\, discussing each film
’s suitability for this event\, and then\ndeciding on the final selectio
 n for your enjoyment. A special thanks\nto Marsha Davis\, Helen Gates\, Ma
rty Rosensweig and Fran Saltzman for\ntheir commitment\, time\, and suppor
t.\n\nTo respect the Jewish Sabbath\, Seaside Jewish Community is not host
ing\nthe films on Friday night or Saturday afternoon.\n
