SUMMARY:Let There Be Light: Works by Robert Hunter
CLASS:PUBLIC
DESCRIPTION:November 7 through November 30\, 2025 Opening Reception: Novemb
 er 7\,\n2025 (5pm-7pm) Ventures Gallery Bob Hunter is a Plein-Air Artist\,
who\ncan be found painting most days on and around the southern Delaware\
nseashore. He primarily works with oil paints\, but is equally\ncomfortabl
e working with other mediums such as watercolors\, pastels\,\nand graphite
pencils. The subject of his work varies widely from\ncoastal landscapes\,
  boats\, farmland\, fields\, valleys\, rivers\, and\nfigurative compositio
 ns. He is motivated by the visual experience\, it\nis paramount\; it’s t
otally engaging – a singularity of purpose.\nThe subject and circumstanc
e of the visual experience i.e.: light\,\ncolors\, and time constraints ty
pically dictate which medium is used.\nFor example\, if drawing a figure (
or whatever subject)\, it’s the\nlight on and around a person or group t
hat initially captures his\nattention. The light becomes an aesthetic medi
um\, element\, a fabric\nfrom which we weave the tapestry of our visual li
ves. “But it’s\nthe seeing thing that most interests me – the totali
ty of the visual\nexperience are exciting things to watch and see. From th
at moment on\n– seeing the shapes\, form\, and color interaction that ma
nifest the\nartwork. Should the light change (clouds come in or dissipate)
or an\nindividual get up and leaves – well then the work if finished. M
y\nwork is a celebration of life. It is a sincere attempt convey\nsomethin
g unpretentious about what I see and experience… Plein-Air\nlandscape pa
inting speaks directly to where I AM. The paintings I\ncreate\, quite simp
ly depict a captured moment in time\; an attempt to\nbe here now\, it’s
a sort of a Zen thing. I’m an observer… So\,\nthe process of selecting
a subject to draw or paint is largely\ndetermined by chance circumstance.
When the light is right\, and the\nspirit moves me – I paint. “Any fr
amework\, method\, or label you\nimpose on yourself is just as likely to b
e a limitation as an\nopening.”  Venue: Rehoboth Art League.
