on from\nRick Phillips\, one of Delaware’s most prolific artists. “Las
 ting\nImpressions” features 40 brand-new impressionist paintings\, on\nd
isplay from October 1-23.   Rick’s work is reminiscent of\n19th-centur
y painters who used the richness of light and color to\ncreate an atmosphe
re that could almost be touched. The works in\n“Lasting Impressions” v
ary in subjects: from simple floral still\nlives to grand country homes an
d elegantly staged pottery\, Rick’s\npieces capture the beauty in averag
e objects. His paintings remind the\nviewer to appreciate the way light fa
lls on a roof panel or the shadow\ncast by a teacup on a bunch of cherries
. “Rick is an exquisite\nartist with an outstanding reputation. The work
s he has produced for\nthis show are just as beautiful as ever\, solidifyi

essionism. His fine art is a part of many\nprivate collections\, including
that of President Joe Biden. Rick\nteaches at Delaware College of Art and

his work\, “In the city\, in\nthe country\, or working on a still life
of antiques and florals\, I get\nto the heart of my subjects with loose an
d bravura brushstrokes\,\nelegant and evocative color\, and a unique sense
of mood. My portfolio\nincludes images of barns\, fields\, and farmhouses
