CLASS:PUBLIC
DESCRIPTION:Get ready to lift up your hands for the most electrifying event
of the\nseason! The Milton Theatre is thrilled to present the cult-classi
c\nrock musical\, Hedwig and the Angry Inch. Experience the grit and\nglam
our like never before. The intimate setting of the Milton Theatre\nputs yo
u right in the middle of the “Angry Inch” tour. There\nisn’t a bad s
eat in the house to witness every sequin\, every tear\,\nand every soaring
high note of Stephen Trask’s legendary score. This\ngroundbreaking\, Ob
ie-winning off-Broadway smash also won multiple\nawards for its hit film a
daptation and Broadway revival. In a\npowerhouse one-night-only concert\,
“internationally ignored song\nstylist” Hedwig Schmidt takes to the st
age to smash the fourth wall\nand rock the house. Hedwig\, an East German
rock ’n’ roll goddess\,\nhappens to be the victim of a botched sex-cha

Hansel) explains her\nstory in the form of a rock gig/stand-up comedy rou
tine\, backed by a\nhard-rocking band called “The Angry Inch.” Through
songs and\nmonologues\, Hedwig tells her story\, which began in the forme
r East\nBerlin\, where she met Luther\, an American GI who promised to tak
e her\nto the States on the condition that she change her genitalia. After
\nthe bungled operation\, Luther abandons Hedwig in a Kansas trailer\npark
\, where she turns to music and meets geeky Tommy Speck\, whom she\nmentor
s and deeply loves. Tommy steals her songs and achieves rock\nstar fame\,
casting Hedwig aside. Demanding redress\, she has stalked\nTommy’s world

head-banging anthems and heartfelt rock ballads\,\nHedwig describes her li
fe’s search for “The Origin of Love” and\na reunion with her other h
alf. It’s a rocking ride – funny\,\ntouching\, and ultimately inspirin
g to anyone who feels life gave them\nan inch when they deserved a mile. H
