 judge\nof the 11th Regional Juried Photography Exhibition\, John Steck\, J
 r.\,\nwho will discuss his jurying process and award decisions. John Steck
 \nJr. is a visual artist and educator who resides in Baltimore\, MD. He\ni
 s a maker of photographic images and ephemeral objects. Using\nlight-sensi
 tive emulsions\, he creates photographs that both fade and\nform over time
 . This work addresses our complex relationship with\ntime\, memory\, and i
 mpermanence. Steck has exhibited across twenty\nstates and six countries. 
 His most recent solo exhibition\, A Silver\nMemory\, which highlighted ove
 r ten years of his artistic practice\,\ntook place in 2024 at the Moreau G
 allery at Saint Mary’s College in\nNotre Dame\, IN. In the summer of 202
 5\, he presented on his project\,\nBeneath the Layers\, as part of the Met
 amorphosis of Time conference at\nthe University of Gdansk in Poland. Stec
 k has been included in over\nfifty publications\, including a feature in A
 rt21 Magazine as part of\nan article on the ephemeral nature of art. He is
  also a member of the\nInternational Society for the Study of Time. Steck 
 is a\nfirst-generation graduate who received his MFA from the San Francisc
 o\nArt Institute and his BFA from the Massachusetts College of Art &\nDesi
 gn. He has been an educator for ten years and is currently the\nPhotograph
 y Coordinator and Senior Lecturer for the Center of Visual\nArts at Johns
