DESCRIPTION:The Rehoboth Art League’s signature summer event\, its Annual
  Outdoor\nFine Art and Fine Craft Show\, returns to Henlopen Acres for the
  first\ntwo weekends in August. After going virtual in 2020\, the Outdoor 
 Show\nis pleased to bring artists back to coastal Delaware to showcase and
 \nsell their artwork. Now in its 48th year\, the event\, underwritten by\
 nJack Lingo\, REALTOR\, will be held August 7-8 and August 14-15 and will\
 nbe open Saturdays from 10am-5pm and Sundays 10am-4pm.\n\n \n\nWith the e
 xception of last year’s virtual event\, the Outdoor Show\nhas been held 
 on the Art League’s historic grounds since 1973 and\nstarted simply\, wi
 th many artists showcasing their work\non snow fences around the proper
 ty. Many of the Art League’s most\nnoted artists\, including Jack Lewis 
 and Howard Schroeder\, were annual\nparticipants. The distinguished show 
 now draws artists from across\nthe country and some of this year’s jurie
 d artists come from as far\naway as Florida and Vermont. As always\, many 
 local and regional\nartists are on campus with their artwork and display i
 n a variety of\nmediums\, including oil and acrylic painting\, pastel pain
 ting\, fine\njewelry\, wood\, metal\, photography\, ceramics\, mixed media

 g-time traditions\,\nincluding its strong level of volunteer involvement\
 , utilizing the\nefforts of more than 100 volunteers to pull off the two-w
 eekend event.\nAnd beyond the innovative artwork that the event brings
  to\nRehoboth Beach\, the Art League offers attendees live music\, artwor
 k\ndemos\, children’s activities\, and delicious food by The Point and\
 nChesapeake & Maine\, with craft brewed beer from Dogfish Head. The Art\n
 League will also have on display its _83rd Annual Members’ Fine\nArt E
 xhibition_\, as well as solo shows including John\nClendening’s _Experi
 encing America’s Great Outdoors _in the\nVentures Gallery and Melissa M
 ay’s _re-Interpreted _in the\nHomestead_. _As always\, the Homestead 
 Docents will be holding an\nonline auction of artwork donated by the Outdo
 or Show artists as a\nfundraiser for preservation projects in RAL’s hist
 oric\nbuildings. RAL provides complimentary transportation to the event\n
 with Jolly Trolley shuttles\, which stop at Rehoboth Beach Elementary\nSch
 ool.\n\n \n\nPatrons at this year’s Outdoor Fine Art and Fine Craft Sho
 w will\nhave an opportunity to win a piece of artwork by longtime Outdoor 
 Show\nartist Damon Pla\, who owns his namesake gallery in Ocean View\, DE\
 , and\nis known for his surreal acrylic paintings. The fulltime artist\nha
 s donated two canvas reproductions of his oil paintings to the\nRehoboth 
 Art League to help raise funds to support its education and\nexhibition pr
 ograms. Pla’s pieces\, “Remaining Silent\,” a 36” x\n36” framed 
 reproduction\, and “The Memory of Leaving Home\,” a\n28” x 38” fra
 med reproduction\, are each valued at $750 and on\ndisplay in the Corkran 
 Gallery. Raffle tickets are $5 per ticket or\nfive for $20 and may be pur
