About Amish Outlaws Website | Facebook | Instagram | YouTube It\nis a litt
le-known fact that most Amish practice a tradition similar to\nthe Christi
an “Confirmation” and Jewish “Bar Mitzvah” called\n“Rumspringa
” (literal translation: “running around”) in which\nAmish children a
t the age of 16 have an opportunity to live free of\nthe strict Amish code
of conduct before deciding if they want to come\nback and be baptized int
o the Amish church. Surprisingly\, virtually\nall of the youths return. Bu
t sometimes they don’t. Four out of the\noriginal six members of The Ami
sh Outlaws were born and raised in\nLancaster\, PA and had a strict Amish
upbringing. No electricity from\nland lines\, no alcohol\, no musical inst
ruments\, but their spirits were\ntoo wild for the Amish lifestyle. Once t
hey trampled in the Devil’s\nPlayground\, there was no turning back. In
the years since Rumspringa\,\nthe members of the Amish Outlaws have become
very well acclimated to\nthe pleasures and vices of the modern world… m
usic\, most of all.\nThus\, with a bold lust for life and a fire for music
and performance\nthat can only come from 16 years of repression\, The Ami
sh Outlaws were\nunleashed upon the world. Venue: Milton Theatre.
