The bulk of the\nfestival takes place in downtown M ilton and festivals of past have\nprovided a shuttle bus to take attendees to Prime Hook National\nWildlife Refuge to further enjoy outdoor activiti es.\nThis year however\, due to COVID-19 restrictions\, the entirety of th e\nfestival will take place in downtown Milton and the festival itself\nwi ll serve as a fundraiser for the Friends of Prime Hook\; a 501c3\nvoluntee r organization whose primary purpose is to assist the Refuge\nstaff in man y areas\, such as public awareness\, education and\nmaintenance.\nThe Hors eshoe Crab & Shorebird Festival was cancelled in 2020 due to\nconcerns aro und the pandemic\, however festival planners are happy to\nbe bringing it back in 2021. Things will be different\, of course\, as\nwe all still deal with COVID-19 related restrictions. The Chamber is\nglad though that the festival Health & Safety Plan has been approved\nby the DE Division of Pub lic Health and is confident that everyone\nwill abide by the health and sa fety regulations required\nto host a safe\, educational and fun event.\nHi ghlights of the Health & Safety Plan include the requirement for\nmask wea ring and social distancing inside the festival area. There\nwill be hand s anitizer available to attendees throughout the event\narea and Entrance an d Exit areas will be clearly marked. As with going\nanywhere these days\, please stay home if you are experiencing a\ntemperature above 99.4\ndegree s Fahrenheit\, have any headache or respiratory sickness\nsymptoms\, or ha ve had a known exposure to anyone with a positive\nCOVID-19 test. The Cham ber hopes that Milton citizens and visitors of\nall ages will come out to downtown Milton on Saturday\, June 19th\, for\na day of playing\, shopping \, learning and eating! The Milton Memorial\nPark Playground is open once again! To avoid over-crowding in the\npark\, festival activities and vendo rs will be located on the Milton\nHistorical Society lot\; a short walking distance from the Milton\nPlayground. Many restaurants throughout town wi ll be open and ready to\nserve with nature-related deals and drinks for yo u to enjoy.\nEducational activities for the kids will include crafts and d isplays\nprovided by Prime Hook National Wildlife Refuge\, the Dupont Natu re\nCenter\, Brandywine Zoo\, the University of Delaware-Delaware Sea Gran t\,\nQuest Kayaks\, and more!
