Third Annual History Book Festival
20+ authors of historical fiction and non-fiction. Presentations & book signings. Multivenues around Lewes. HistoryBookFestival.org
The History Book Festival is a first-of-its kind way to hear more than 20 best-selling authors of current non-fiction and fiction about history. We select writers and subjects to appeal to history buffs and readers ranging from the most serious to the more casual. Their presentations are introduced by emcees who will share insights and facilitate audience questions.
From crime to slime, the third Annual History Book Festival features more than 20 distinguished authors of historical non-fiction and fiction works addressing timely topics and subjects of interest to readers of all ages.
The best-selling or new and promising authors will discuss their books on September 28 at venues throughout historic Lewes, DE. Pulitzer Prize winner Rick Atkinson will deliver the Festival’s keynote address on September 27 and acclaimed novelist Alice Hoffman will present the closing address on September 29. All events except for the keynote and closing speakers are free; seats are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Books featured during moderated author discussions include biographies and cover topics ranging from politics and world history to science, nature and even beer. Books are selected to appeal to both casual history buffs and serious historians. New this year, the Festival will host a children’s literature panel, featuring picture book authors who will discuss their work writing historical biographies for young readers.
